As a filmmaker, I have have an opportunity to collaborate in different capacities. I tend to edit and direct often, and also do cinematography, color grading. For broadcast commercial work, I tend to assistant edit.

While attending film school, I recall being told to specialize, so I majored in Writing/Directing, yet once I started working in the field, it seemed there was equal valuable is being great at more than one technical field. Fortunately, all the fields inform one another. From good cinematography, a colorist has a strong foundation to start on; from editing one learns good pacing that informs directing choices.
